Reasons for Learning French
French is the native - or at least official - language in several countries around the world, such as France, Francophone Africa, Haiti, Switzerland, Belgium and Canada. Even in the USA there are parts of the states of Louisiana and Maine where the majority of people are native French speakers. Many international organizations also use French as one of their official languages, such as the International Olympic Committee, all United Nations agencies, the World Trade Organization, etc. Thus, French could be the ideal choice if you’re looking to learn a second language, whether for professional or travel reasons, or just for your own personal enrichment.
