Travel Broadens the Mind - and Helps Learn Languages

It’s quite surprising how much of a help traveling is when it comes to learning languages. The more you visit countries other than your own, the more you realize that languages are an integral part of people’s culture, beliefs, values and traditions. And the more you come to realize that you can only truly understand a person’s culture, beliefs, values and traditions if you understand at least a little of their language.

And as this realization begins to sink in, you’ll notice how much more motivated you become to learn a foreign language. So, if you really want to get involved in learning a foreign language, make as many trips abroad as possible - obviously it’s more useful to visit a country whose language you’re studying, but visiting any country will help you to increase your motivation and thus your proficiency.

But before you set off, it’s a good idea to learn at least the basics of the language of the country you’re going to visit. Rocket Languages offer free 6-day courses in 6 different languages.
